Hibernation Day

Life has been so crazy lately. There is always somewhere to run or something to do. The phone is always ringing or somebody's at the door. We have to shuttle people here and there, or have them coming over here. I love the frenzy of activity and the flurry of fun that people bring into your life, but sometimes you need to just stop. My husband challenged me this morning to just "be still", and so we decided, inspired by the Jars of Clay song "Hibernation Day" to declare today just that! I put bedsheets on the doors that do not have curtain and posted signs. We have warm monkey bread that just came out of the oven and we're about to watch a movie! Woo hoo! I think I have just exhibited my first ever anti-social behavior. I think I like it!

  1. What a great idea! However, most of our friends cannot read! (heehee) We would have to post hieroglyphics. How do you do hibernation in pictures anyhow?
Enjoy your monkey bread, movie, and each other!
    We love you guys!
    XOXO

  3. I found your blog hard to read. Black on red is very hard on eyes.

  5. What else did you do? Did you make it through the day without visiting any outside of your family?

  6. I love it!!! I told Jason that our neighbors would still be knocking... what does that mean??? LOL!
Hope you had a grand day and Jason loves the idea he wants to try it.

  7. How different is this post from a year ago when you would have given anything to have your doorbell ring. God has given you over and above - how cool that you have to put up a sign to stop the blessings!
