You Are Enough

What if you understood that right now, where you are with whatever particular sin you are struggling with, whatever ugliness you know lurks in the dark corners of you heart, whatever you have achieved or not, are doing or aren't doing, believe or don't believe - that you are enough? Right now. Not something in the future, something to attain or strive for, but that if you never added one more thing to your resume, never leaped over any more tall sins in a single bound, never wrote a book, rode the bull, lost the weight, ate all organic, made your million, nothing else. The current you, at this moment in your life with no more growth or achievements are loved with an everlasting love, and underneath are the everlasting arms. (Jer. 31:3 & Deut. 33:27) We say it, and confess it to be true because after all it's in the Bible, but we don't believe it.
My post yesterday was about fear, and I was struck with the vast number of responses that could be summed up to say the collective biggest fear is that I won't be enough. I won't do enough. As a woman, I can so relate. I have thought and felt every one of the same things. Just wanted to take time today to remind you that you are enough. He knows that you are but dust (Ps. 103:14) and loves you anyway.

  2. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the dust verse.

Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

For He knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust.

He knows I am but dust, but He loves me anyway. Amen and Amen!

  3. Thanks Julie. Living with a DH who always wants me to change, it's nice to be reminded that the Lord accepts me where I am.

  7. Thank you for this entry, Julie, I needed to hear this today. I have been feeling quite discouraged about life in general, homeschooling in particular & add in PMS and getting back in the swing of things after a very fun but busy trip. I needed to hear that the Lord will meet me & love me wherever I am. Love you much, Mel

  12. Yeah, I love this new realization, compliments of The Shack book, that Father has no expectations of any one. How can He expect something from an outcome He's already seen and walked through? He's already been in our future, as much as He's in our present.

That's the single greatest revelation of my life: I am enough, just like I am. He can not expect any more from me, and doesn't give a rat's behind (just in case the "a" word throws anyone off) if I ever improve or not. That measuring stick was a man-made invention; not from Father.

Are we gonna love our kids MORE when they "improve"???
