Hurricane Sale

I have had the Master Plan on sale before - you can see it on my right sidebar. Normally it is $37.95. With the limited cash flow and no idea when our next paychecks will come in, I have decided to generate a little by having a sale. For a limited time, both the Master Plan and my newly released components which normally sell for $9.99 are on sale.
The Calendar Component is a dated calendar supplement for 2008-2009. It contains monthly, weekly and daily pages. The Budgeting Component contains all the information for planning your household finances. Both of these components are interactive like the Master Plan allowing you to fill in your personalized information and either print out the customized pages or use it solely on your computer.
Please send others my way. I have a pretty quick turn around and should be able to email the file within a few hours after purchase. (Usually I'm much quicker than that!)
Thanks!

Last Chance to Get the Master Plan Half Price

I just got a sale this evening and it reminded me that my planner, The Master Plan (on my sidebar to the right) is still on sale for half-price. It was supposed to be only for the month of August, but since the beginning of September brought a hurricane, I didn't really have that price change at the top of my list of priorities. For 24 hours only until 10 pm tomorrow night you can still get The Master Plan at half-price. After that, it returns to $37.95. Grab it now. I'll send it as soon as the sale goes through!

Drumroll Please - The Master Plan is Ready

Now On Sale for $37.95
HALF PRICE SALE FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST
Use the PayPal "Buy Now" button on the right sidebar.
I have worked on this until my eyes are crossed, but the Master Plan, an updated, consolidated, inter-activated version of "the Plan" is now available. I am so excited about how much I learned about PDF publishing. This planner is fully interactive, allowing you to type your own information in all of the forms, click on links and customize this planner and make it your own. I am really very excited about the possibilities. This planner is integrated so that homeschoolers, unschoolers, and even families with children in public and private school might find its content beneficial and useful. My friend Leslie, at Simple Journey Ministries wrote some frugal and simple living articles that are included as well as some features on crock pot cooking, read-alouds, etc. by yours truly. There is a small sneak preview available in the slideshow below, and a PayPal button in my sidebar by the front cover icon where you can get your own. I promise that this is the cheapest price it will be sold for anywhere at a about a $10 discount. This is a pre-sale price and will only be at this rate for a limited time until I have it up in other stores. If you price interactive planners you won't find one so thorough or as inexpensive. I am going to be offering yearly updates for this planner as well - so you will never have to buy a full planner again.
I really hate doing a "commercial" on my blog - but I just wanted to share this exciting news with you - and give you a chance to get the new planner. If you place an order and pay via PayPal, your planner will be sent to you within 24 hours. Thanks!

UHSE Booksale

I met my terrific friend Leslie a few years ago when we both were new bloggers. She is just terrific. She has a blog called Journey to Simplicity where she focuses on simple living, thrifty living, and enriching family life. She shares all she's learned about organizing, price booking, stretching your grocery dollars, and on and on, but the best part is that she does it with so much heart!
Leslie is hosting a Ultimate Homeschool Expo sale. Even some ebooks by yours truly will be there including The Plan 2008 both Homeschooling and Unschooling Edition, and the Homeschool Co-op Planner. There are tons of resources for homeschoolers, but also a lot that my unschooling friends will find of great value - including books about frugal meals, menu planning and spring cleaning.
I am going to keep the button up on my sidebar for the duration of the sale, so feel free to click on over. Make sure you tell Leslie that Julie sent ya! No you won't get anything free for dropping my name, but my friend will know that I support all her hard work! Go Leslie!

I'm a Writer! I'm a Writer! I'm a Writer!

There is a lot happening on the writing front.
First I never mentioned, gentle readers, that I have already been published in a book about homeschooling that was originally going to be titled "Juggling with Hamsters". It is only an excerpt about the length of an average blog entry in the back of the book - or so I'm told. I've never gotten my complimentary copy.
Second, today I sold my first Homeschool Co-op Planner! Woo hoo! That got me pretty juiced up about writing.
Third, I finished a chapter I have been working on about unschooling, and was rather happy with the outcome. The lady that is putting the project together contacted me and said it was the first entry that didn't have to have any editing - none, zero, zilch! When I wrote back and told her I wanted to be a writer - she replied, "You are a writer! You don't have to become one!"
Wow - so I am.
Very cool.

House For Sale

House For Sale

Harpers Ferry
3 br, 2 ba walk-out basement, vinyl siding
rancher - great location and quiet neighborhood in beautiful mountain setting
$279,900

This is how an ad for our house might read. There are so many other things it could say, if there were enough lines to tell the story. It could say that we prayed for our own home for ten years before we were blessed to be able to buy this one. At one point in the financing when our loan wasn't looking like it was going to go through, Porky (our pastor) met us, and we sat on the front steps and prayed that the Lord would provide.

I remember the day that we moved in, I have a lap quilt that is very special to me. As the furniture was still being moved in, I hung it on the wall - because it symbolized to me that this was our "home".

Before our financing could go through, there were several things we had to do. We built a railing to go on the back door. Having never built a railing before,I went to the lumber store and asked a hundred questions. I know they were glad when I left. That night, Travis and I put it together.

The day after we moved in, while I was busy unpacking, my girls tied a rope across two trees outside, and made a little tent like structure, spread a blanket on the ground, and had a picnic. The played out there for hours. It was such a joy to watch them enjoying their own yard.

My parents divorced when I was nine, and although there was always a place to call "home", my heart never truly rested anywhere again, until we bought this house. I had been "home"less - so to speak - for about twenty years. I think all of that may make it a bit harder for me to let go. But I know God is teaching me things I cannot know without this journey. I will stay thankful for that, and remember that the memories of my family in this house that became our home will stay forever!
