Interesting quote on the power of love –
For this is one of the miracles of love; it gives – to both, but perhaps especially to the woman – a power of seeing through its own enchantments and yet not being disenchanted.
- C.S. Lewis in A Grief Observed
This book makes you see grief turned inside out. Mr. Lewis so exposes his frustrations, fears and feelings in such a way you wonder if the book will conclude with his abandonment of faith. If you have ever loved and lost, you will perhaps be provoked in your memory to a time that you care not to relive, and yet he so articulates the experiences, that it helps to heal what time cannot. A couple of friends and I are starting a book discussion group on yahoo, and this is the first book that we are reading together. "The point about reading C.S. Lewis is that he makes you sure, whatever you believe, that religion accepted or rejected means something extremely serious, demanding the entire energy of the mind." -Harper's Magazine
