Kullen in the Kitchen

My Kully-boy has always liked to be in the kitchen. I think it started with being small and wanting to be near me. Now he has really developed a love for cooking. Once I make sure his hands are thoroughly decontaminated, we have a lot of fun together. When he found out that I was making pizzas today, he pretty much took over my job! We had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I still can't get the pizza dough recipe to come out the way I want it in my Bosch mixer. It always turns out a little tough. We are trying again tomorrow. I have a bunch of crusts to make for a youth pizza night on Friday, and I have GOT to get this dough right! Good thing I have a trusty helper! Too bad it doesn't taste as good as it looks!
If you have a really good pizza dough recipe - I'd love it if you'd share. I've tried one that came in a bread cookbook, but it is too bread-y and not yeasty enough for pizza. This recipe was from my old bread machine - but it got kind of tough when baked. I used to be able to make beautifully soft pizza dough in the bread machine - but with this homongo mixer it has been a challenge. And if you have any recipes that are especially 10 year old boy friendly that'd be an added bonus! (The boy will be TEN in two days! How much growing up is a mama's heart supposed to handle?)

Bragging on My Man

This picture is kind of dark - but I wanted to show you what my hubby did while I was away the last four days. We bought a projector before we moved into this house, but since the house was full of windows, leaving little wall space, we weren't sure how we were going to ever use it. He used a white board to make this screen that hangs from the wall in front of our fireplace. It is going to be great. We are going to break it in sometime this week. The best part is that you can take it down and put it away when you aren't using it.
I was so proud of him when I came home yesterday. The sink was empty, the countertops were clean, the living room where he built the screen was even cleaned up and the BED was even made! Ah, it made the homecoming even sweeter!

No Day of Rest

It is after midnight and I am still up and going strong. I have been trying to get a PDF file made of the More of Him, Less of Me Bible Study that is starting up this week. I was happy to do it, but it seems that whenever I attempt this kind of project, everything possible fights me! Word was giving me a fit, spitting out formatting symbols, etc.
That is really the least of our problems, however. Yesterday afternoon, I got my husband into our bathroom to show him a spot on the wall in the closet that backs up to the bathtub that seemed to be continually wet. It was also right next to the towel hamper, so I wasn't sure if the kids were maybe putting really wet towels against it, and it just wasn't getting a chance to dry out. Well, he pulled the wallboard off and saw it drip, drip, dripping from the last shower. Ugh. We had to turn the water off immediately. I washed my hair in the kitchen sink this morning before church (which is another post altogether), the dishwasher is full, there is a pile of laundry in every hamper, and the kitchen sink is piled high with dishes. Thankfully the neighbors have been letting us fill up buckets with water so we can flush the toilets. Travis did some repairs, but as soon as he turned the water back on, it shot out everywhere! He is going to have to stay home tomorrow to work on it some more. You don't realize how much you take running water for granted until you don't have it.
